An Elizabethan country house hotel dating from 1530, it is said that Elizabeth I once held court here. The Hall has lost none of its Tudor grandeur. Furnished as a private house throughout with many period pieces, panelled rooms, carved doors, and great stone fireplaces are displayed against the splendour of English Oak. Local delicacies such as the house speciality lobster feature on the a la carte menu. The courtyard area was converted from a Tudor tithe barn, dairy, and coach house. It now incorporates 10 charming cottage-style suites and a modern leisure complex with a heated swimming pool, exercise machines, spa bath, and beauty salon. Perfect for any event or just a weekend getaway. Also offering afternoon tea fit for birthdays, easter or mothers day celebrations. Gift vouchers are available for afternoon tea, the spa and stays. Set in 34 acres of tranquil parkland with sweeping lawns and a willow fringed lake, guests may stroll about in the grounds or relax in the terrace garden. There is also an 18 hole golf course adjacent to the hotel. A walk along the riverside will take the visitor to picturesque Woodbridge, with its tide mill, antique shops, yacht harbours and quaint old streets. Constable Country and the Suffolk Coast are nearby.
