About Jimmy's Farm & Wildlife Park

Jimmy's Farm & Wildlife Park is an award winning wildlife park, rare breeds farm, restaurant and wedding venue based in the heart of Suffolk.The wildlife park, owned by TV presenter and conservationist Jimmy Doherty, is home to world class facilities such as Europe's largest polar bear reserve.‚'Sharing the Good Life' encapsulates their belief that the natural world should be accessible and available to all and they have a newly launched charity called Space for the Wild which will drive their conservation efforts.From pigs to polar bears the park is a centre of excellence for British rare breeds as well as camels, primates, tapir and crocodiles amongst other animals.

Frequently asked questions

I’m under 16, can I visit without an adult?

No, you can’t.

All children under the age of 16 must be supervised by a full paying adult at all times.

Do you offer any discounts?

We offer a 10% blue light card and 10% public services discount for admission tickets purchased at the gate. You must show your Blue Light Card (or Employment ID for public service workers) at the gate when purchasing the tickets.

If you are a resident of Wherstead Village or Belstead Village we are delighted to be offering a complimentary visit for you. Please bring a document with you that verifies your address. Village residents are also entitled to 20% off a Wild Pass, please purchase this from Customer Service and show a document that verifies your address.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes, you can bring a picnic into our Farm & Wildlife Park.

We have lots of picnic benches and grass areas dotted around for you to sit and enjoy your lunch.

Are dogs welcome?

Yes, we are one of only two Wildlife Parks in the country where you can bring your dog! They aren’t however, allowed in indoor areas such as the butterfly house and reptile house.

Dogs are more than welcome in the Restaurant  if you plan on bringing yours please make a note on your booking or let the restaurant team know.

Are your experiences suitable for those in a wheelchair?

Some experiences are not suitable for those in a wheelchair, this is for safety reasons in the extremely unlikely circumstance that one of our animal’s temperament changes. The terrain of the enclosures are not even and can be muddy.

Do you have a mobility scooter for hire?

We do! We have a Tramper all-terrain mobility scooter available to hire. Please email enquiries@jimmysfarm.com to book.

Are you open during the week / winter?

Yes, we are open every day apart from Christmas Day & Boxing Day. Take a look at our Opening Times»

Please note we are a working farm and so during wet winter period pack some wellies so you can go sploshing in the puddles!

What age are you classed as a child?

Child tickets and memberships are eligible for those between 2 and 16 years old.

Please note, under 2’s go free.

Children must be supervised by a full paying adult at all times.

How long will a visit take?

There is lots to do here including the Wildlife Park, play areas, shops and restaurant. Whether you have 2 hours to spare, half a day or a full day there is lots of fun to be had!
